This started at being bothered by the logo on the 442 being obscured by the LaserGrip. Not liking the looks of the 642 with said grip, the only solution was to start swapping stuff.
The 442 with a few years head start has about 3x the rounds through it and a butter smooth trigger. The 642 has a slight hitch before breaking...only noticeable in deliberate slow fire. Swapping cylinders left the 642 with 442 cylinder unable to fire. Subsequently, the hammer, trigger, and hand were swapped as well. Interestingly, the hitch stayed with the 642, but with a slightly improved action. Also as interesting, the 442 stayed as well as it was (if not better).
Enough talk.

My only real concern is that the 442 which had a tight barrel/cylinder gap is now almost touching. If it can get through 50 rounds without locking up I'll be happy.
I guess it'll be the 642's turn to get beat up in the ankle holster (the flat grip is nice for that mode of carry).
It'll be interesting to see how they shoot and if they maintain their individual personalities. The 442 was my favorite by far. Now I'm not so sure.
