New Governor owner
Hi,
Just got the Governor and what a revolver! I am wondering about how to mount accessories since it does not have a rail like my M&P 15-22 AR. I would prefer something right under the end of the barrel. Also, what is best to use, the .45 ACP or the .45 Long Colt. Thanks!

Congratulations! I don't want or need anything on mine. I use a combination of .45LC and .410 defensive shells. Good Luck!

I only use Federal brand in the 000 buck and #4. Federal has proven to be better than all of the other brands for this gun. I also shoot the 45 ACP when I go to the range. For self defense, I keep it loaded with 2 000 buck, 2 Hornady FTX hollowpoint in LC, and two hollowpoint in ACP.
I have had my Governor for almost two years and I think it is a blast to shoot. You will find that it shoots high. I aim about halfway down the dovetail to be on target.

I can't think of an accessory to add to a Governor. Whatcha' thinkin' about? As for ammo, .45 LC is expensive, but so are .410 SD loads. I mix mine up with everything it's designed to shoot.

Glad to hear the good feedback. I have been wanting one myself. I thought, and even posted, that I would sell my J Frame 360PD Scandium 357 and then take the money and buy the Governor. I went to the LGS today and looked at one, and it is a lot of revolver indeed!!! Go for about $759 here, will be around $800 OTD.
Problem is for me, if I sell my little J I will still want one of those. Problem is for me, I can't have both. So I will be glad to stick with what I got. If I sold the J to buy the Governor, I would justify to myself "that every collector needs a J Frame." Then buy one of those. Go figure! My dad told me son, "you are old enough now that your 'wants' should not hurt your!" Indeed! Need to be satisfied with what the Good Lord has already given!!!
Can i get a witness?

For SD, I will only load mine with Federal 000 Buck and Lehigh .45 Maximum Expansion rounds made expressly for the 410 revolver platform.
No rail available to my knowledge but I got mine with Crimson Trace laser grips.

Congrats on your purchase. Can't offer much on mounting accessories but in my limited experience for accuracy, mine seems to slightly favor jacketed Colt rounds to ball or lead in either colt and ACP. I'm thinking maybe due to the longer OAL so the Lehigh max expansion rounds mentioned sounds worth a try for not only accuracy but also effectiveness.
ETA:
My shooting was based on non-controlled testing (off hand not even from a rest) and the difference in accuracy was only slightly negligible.
