Default My new favorite revolver

Hi,

I picked this up off the forum from Bud Jr. Smooth transaction.

This gun was a law enforcement trade in. It has some use and was recrowned but in very good shape.

I prefer the nose heavy balance of the full lug. I shoot with both hands and the extra weight dampens the wobble.

The Precision Delta HBWCs look like they have a lot of promise. They performed the best in the gun and I tried Hornady, Speer, Remington and Zero brand HBWCs. They were also the favorite of another gun I was testing.

It's going to go in for a target trigger job and a little modification on the sights. Should be a great hole puncher.

This group was shot from sand bags at 50 yards...5 shots @ 1.45". Sweet!!

Excellent shooting + handload, Dave !

A good S&W with good ammo + good shooter will outshoot some people with rifles (of course: rifles without scopes...or I wants a scope on the revolver also...)

Thanks guys. Tight groups are rewarding!

If I lived on the mainland I'd be tempted to buy the loaded Precision Delta ammo. Their prices seem very reasonable considering they are using Starline brass. Especially the ones made with once fired brass. If you need some good brass that would be a excellent way to get brass and some match quality loaded ammo.

Nice weapon and fine shooting there sir.
I Love the underlugs on the 586 and 686 models.
Balance is perfect for me. The 4" and the 6"
