Default Why no K/L frame leightweight offerings?

I'm looking through the current line up, I see J frames and N frames in alloyed frame flavors but nothing in the mid sized frames?. Seems to me a scandium framed, 3" mod 66 /686 (for instance) would have some appeal in the carry/ kit gun market.
Am I alone here?

There was a re-introduction of a K frame light weight several years ago. My guess would be that it and Model 12s didn't sell well enough. I have lightweight J and N frames and would buy a K now. Maybe it'll come back.

I don't think that they sell well enough outside of the "enthusiast group".

Agree.
A Scandium Model 12 has long been on my dream list.

I agree. I have a Night Guard 386 which came with a 2.5 inch barrel. I am quite fond of it. I'm sure you're aware it's discontinued but you can probably find a used one.

I wish they would. I would love a lightweight K or L in 357. I doubt it would be a big seller though. I loved the Night Gaurds but they were too expensive for me at the time.

There's the 242 Airlite too, 7 shots of .38 goodness. When I run across them online they're pretty pricey though.

Since the Night Guard line didn't sell well, I doubt we'll see similar offerings. But, I would like to see a reintroduction of them.

I wanted a 386 Night Guard. Couldn't find one. I bought a 327PC. Like it but I would have taken the 386 if it was available. One shot less and a few ounces more but I think it would conceal a little better and I like the sights and 2 1/2" barrel. There's also no ammo restrictions.

A Model 12 will bring really good money...if you can find one.

Have you looked at a Model 60-15? Or is that not a "lightweight" class?

But wasn't the OP asking about K/L frames? Apples and oranges. Lightweight midsize frame guns just aren't fun to shoot.(either are J frames)

I have both a 315 and a 396 Nightguard, very nice revolvers. I have a suitable replacement for the 315 in the form of a custom 3" Colt Agent, so it will be going away. But the 396 will stay, it's a great hog/snake gun and it's more compact than my M69 bear country gun.

S&W offers a number of different lightweights from time to time, just be patient.

A 3" lightweight Model 13 would be my dream gun.

386 night guard ..... my favorite gun for carry. Hard to find but worth the hunt IMO.

Also, with the right grips (3 finger Ahrends) it's not too bad with full house and even better with TSB Barnes or BB.

I'd like for the Nightguards to return, but with 3" barrels.
