Exclamation QUESTION: S&W 25-5 With Unfluted Cylinder?

I'm familiar with 25-7s and 25-9s with unfluted cylinders, but until today had never seen a 25-5 unfluted.

It's marked (laser etched) just like the 7s and 9s with the ".45 CAL. MODEL OF 1989" on the right side of the barrel. And it has those horrible Hogue grips on it from the factory. It also has the matte finish like the 7s and the 9s.

My question...or what I'm wondering...is this really a 25-5, or has someone mislabeled the gun?

Anyone know the production years for the 25-5?

Thanks for any help on this.

EDIT: Well, I think I can say never mind on my question. I've decided on my own the gun is not a 25-5, not with a serial number of BFJ6904. Someone's just confused about what the gun really is.

My Model of 1989 is a 627, unfluted 6-shot 5.5" barrel. I believe a little over 5000 were made. I remember seeing info about the 29's and 629's also being unfluted. Should be able to search here and find it.

I contacted the seller. It's actually a 25-9.

I have no use for one and not the discretionary cash at this time, but that is one of the few guns I would seriously consider buying in spite of the practical analysis issues.
