Default Model 29 with Scope Mount

I have a friend that has a Model 29-4, 8 3/8" barrel with factory broaching to accommodate S&W scope mounting system. He can't remember if it has been fired or not, so we'll call it ANIB. I don't have any pics, but there is one pictured on page 202 of SCSW. I'm trying to help him determine collectibility on this particular model. The Product Code is: 101233 8-3/8" Scope Mount, 1989.

Does anyone know just how many of these were produced? Any idea of current market value? As I said, it is as new in the original box, with papers, tools, SB Combat Target stocks & the original scope mounts. Any help is greatly appreciated.........

I believe they made 3600 of the factory scope mount 29.
Prices are running around $1200 or so.

Seeing as he has the complete pkg (ESPECIALLY the scope rings) I'd say $1000 or higher depending on location. A set of rings alone sold on ebay recently for around $200.
