Default Range Report Redux with new used 686 6" Six-shooter

Well, after successfully range testing my 686 6" 6-shooter (which I bought gently used from the LGS consignment table) I decided to get a trigger job done. I have found that a S&W with a good trigger job is well-neigh impossible to beat. As usual, Mike at West Coast Gunworks came through, and the trigger action is lighter and smooth as silk. More importantly, 100% reliable shooting 21 .357s and about 150 .38 Specials.

The limitations at 10 yards are all mine and not the gun's, but here is the best target of the lunch hour:

The out-of-the-box trigger on this gun was not bad, but with the Wilson Combat spring kit and a little polishing here and there, the gun is really a joy to shoot. When the action of a S&W is really tuned up, you can really get into a rhythm and do some good shooting. I was shooting this one on my lunch hour and I was a little over-caffeinated (my normal state these days) but I was really grooving with the trigger and gun at certain points.

Next outing I plan to shoot a whole box of .357s just to prove to myself that I can do it, LOL.
