Default 6 inch 657 price check

6 inch barrel No Lock 657. Looks very good, little use in pictures. No box or papers. I don't have any reloading components for 41 magnum but this includes RCBS dies and about 100 brass cases. I can get it for about $850 out the door. I already have 4 - Smiths chambered for 44 magnum and a bunch chambered for 357 so it's not like I need it. But it would be fun to play with a new caliber.
What do you guys think? Is it a good deal?

I personally think that is about a Benny too high, but then I am somewhat conservative when it comes to revolver prices. I bought a 4" with smooth targets a year or so ago for $575. Granted, it was blued, but I prefer those (and nickel) to stainless.

But the typical thought process in buying anything is that if you think it was a good deal, it was. If you smack later, then it wasn't.

I hope this makes some kernel of sense... and if you buy it, you will love the .41, I suspect.

I say pass on this. Not a good enough deal unless you really want to load for another caliber. If you really do want a 41Mag, there are probably better deals out there. Remember 99% of the buyers out there are not looking for a 41, so that should drive prices down on a shooter grade gun. I'd be patient and look for either a 57 or 657 at a more reasonable price. Or offer the seller at least a hundred less and see what happens. Doubt he'd get a better offer from a walk in customer.

I LOVE 41 magnums. It is a Great cartridge. I got my first one by accident and have been scrounging them like an addict, even other makes

I would not pay that much, but then I already have one.

Even if I did not have one, that sounds a bit high to me considering the box, tools and papers are missing. What about the correct original grips?
