Noticed on my 629-2E revolver it has very little crown showing, almost like a very thin chamfer cut or deburr.
Are all 629's with 3 inch barrel cut like that?
I would say the width of the chamfer cut is .020-.030 at most!
The "Crown" of a barrel is simply the muzzle end, regardless of how finished, even if simply cut off with a hacksaw. The question is "How should the crown be finished?" Without pictures it is difficult to say if this is a normal factory crown, but, yes, S&W has finished the muzzle of some iterations of some models with a simple inner and outer chamfer.
