Default R8 Rail etc.

I went to put a red dot sight on my R8 but it was very loose when done up tight. I tried another Pic rail (Barnard) and it snugged up fine. I guess the R8 rail is under size and I will need to mod the sight a bit to get it tight. Right now I have a couple of layers of index card taking up the slack so I can shoot it.

Has anyone else had this problem with theirs?

I am also waiting for a warranty replacement barrel for it, been over a year now. The barrel looks really good but there must have been some inclusions in the steel so there are big gaps in the rifling. I guess no one looks at the parts they make. Shoots well anyway as is. If I ever get it fixed I hope it shoots as well.

I really like the gun but getting parts is a bugger!

A year for a part? Wow! I'm glad you're shooting it while you wait.

In regard to the rail, do you have anything else that is mountable just to see if its the red dot or the rail?

I have tried the sight on other rails without problems. I ground off a bit on the clamping part and it holds fine now.

The gun was with a factory service company for the barrel and they sent it back to me so I could shoot it, at their cost. It is quickly becoming my favorite.
