What is a reasonable price for a nice set of N Frame grips ?- PICS Posted
I am trying to find a nice set of original grips for a 629-1, serial number AJL4xxx. I found these on ebay and they look very nice. I am not sure the year of my gun, but these are 1984. There is an auction with a starting bid At a 120 dollars.
Any thoughts about what I should pay ? The gun is in decent shape a bit of wiggle in the lockup and may have paid a bit much @ 600 but would like to return it to factory original.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance - L

The moderators frown on posting links to open auctions. That said, N frame targets of that era seem to be running between $100 to $150. Might get lucky and find some under a $100 if you're not too picky on condition.
Good luck.

Prefix AJL is likely from the late summer to fall of 1985. It 'probably' had wood Target stocks with the larger "speedloader" cutout on the left panel from the factory. A nice set will probably be in the $100 range. Good luck in your search.

I have found nice wood on ebay. Never paid over $75, if memory serves me right. Patience is required. Gun shows are also a possible source. Good luck on your hunt! Bob

Another member offered up a set of refinished footballs and we are working out the details. I will post some pics with her new duds once I get them.

Ok, here she is with her new duds. I know they are not the speedloaders, but they were really nice for a good price. Thanks to Masterbucks54 - easy to deal with great communication.

You got a nice set of GA Target grips. Those Football cuts look great and really set the Mag. off.
