Default Help dating my new to me 686 no dash

Can anyone help me date my new to me 686? I just replaced the original furniture with rubber for range use. It looks like the serial number is AJS0440.

My book places that serial number somewhere around Sept/Oct 1985. Don't forget to give us a range report. Nice Revolver.
