Get your hands on a 3" version.
Load a 180g jacketed anything over an obscene amount of H110/W296.
Prepare to be amazed!
Congrats on the 4", they're ideal.

Love those powders with NO flash retardant!!!!!! Not particularly good for shooting at night when trying to see well but quite visual IF one is on the receiving end of your shot.....Generally will make one beat feet if they think that the next one will incinerate them as they are shot as well! Great pic!

Dang!
Didn't know you could buy 44 rounds with magnesium/aluminum powder in them!
(Don't give me ideas!)
I have some 12 ga. loads like that I have never had the guts to fire.
Anyone remember Hi-Vel?
Gotta love how they tell you that the fireball may go out to 200 feet and attain temperatures of 3000 degrees.
Then they tell you not to fire these indoors!

My pictures do that a lot. How do you fix them? Or should I just ask for someone to do it?

As I suggested in another thread, the best free digital darkroom is Irfanview.
I run all my photos thru it.
It's very intuitive, very easy to use.
Rotating takes one or 2 clicks.
Irfanview
Recommended.
Adding text to the picture is easy as in these examples:

It's simple. In this case, I right-clicked on the photo to copy and save it to Photoshop.
In Photoshop, click on "Image" in the menu bar>rotate canvas>90° CW>Save to web. Then just attach it using the forum "manage attachments" function. In this case, "CW" means clockwise. There are other degrees of rotation available.
I use Photoshop, but whatever image processing program you might have in your computer should work just as well. Just start off by copying/saving the photo to your imaging program, then go from there.

Quick answer is that the powder and the company I referred to are not the same thing.
The powder is a very early Hercules number and there is some load data for it in Speer #1-6 if you can dig those up.
The bullet and loading company started up about the time that powder was discontinued (early 60's).
I will give more info later if you want but have to hit the sack and work our first hockey game of the season tomorrow.
Do a search for Hi-Vel (or HiVel) #2 and you will find more.
From the wikipedia Hercules page:
"Military Rifle (MR) # 19 was a tubular powder containing 20 percent nitroglycerin[11] introduced by DuPont in 1908 and was renamed HiVel (# 1) when manufactured by Hercules. It was modified as HiVel # 2 in 1915.[10] Production was discontinued in 1964.[9] A smaller grained version was produced as HiVel # 3 from 1926 to 1941.[10]"
One of the mods was to take out the tin anti-coppering agent as it was causing fouling!
There is some discussion on CastBoolits.
If it was me I would not load that stuff... maybe just save the containers.
They are worth way more than the powder at this point.

If you don't want to mess with photo processing, you will just have to keep your camera in the horizontal position. However there are free programs that are fairly easy to use.
