This thread is making me want to get the gently used 325PD at a local pawn shop!

Default 340PD Centennial

Here's my latest Sc/Al alloy framed revolver.

This No-Lock, Ti cylinder, Sc/Al alloy frame Centennial (12.7oz.) has a set of VZ grips on.

It's become my EDC weapon that's stoked with some moderate power 357s plugged with 135gr JHPs.

I have had my 642-1 for close to twenty years. I think I will keep it.

Speaking of Scandium, what ever happened to the Model 386 PD and Model 386 Mountain Lite? I was looking through this 2002 Guns and Ammo Handguns magazine the other day which started my interest.

Here's a 386 Mtn Lite shown above a 3 1/2" Freedom Arms M97 round butt .45 Colt

The 386 is no longer in my posession, but its twin (396 ,44 special) still is. Don't know if the 386 is scandium framed but the 396's frame is aluminum.

A 360 PD along side a 317 (all aluminum).

And finally an Alaskan Backpacker II

Default Scandium Frame 325 (cracked frame)

My Scandium frame 325 was in my mind the best shooter of all my revolvers. As I left the range the last time I shot it I was all smiles. What a great gun! After I arrived home after the range session I started my cleaning process as I always do. When I opened the cylinder I was shocked to see a large crack in the frame below the barrel. I was totally surprised as the gun shot to point of aim even down to the last shot. I shipped the gun back to Smith & Wesson about two weeks ago and haven't heard anything back from them yet. The gun was a safe queen most of its life and had only 60 rounds of factory ACP ammo through it. I am posting this not to knock the gun, but to make owners of Scandium frame revolvers aware of the possible cracking of the frame. I know some people have shot thousands of rounds through their revolvers without any problems, but not everyone. Encloses are pictures of mine.
