Default 340PD Value?

I have a friend who wants to buy my 340PD and I want to give him a fair price. It was purchased, w/box, about a year ago for $750. I've shot it very little and only w/.38 standard pressure loads and it's in pristine condition. Any help would be appreciated.

I had a 340pd no lock that was in the same condition as yours. I sold it to my lgs for $600 & a free transfer on my next purchase that I had shipped there. He sold it for $725. This is your friend so my example might not apply.

These are expensive guns to buy new. However, most folks don't like the recoil of full magnum loads and resale value drops fairly quickly. Last year I bought one with box/papers a new Bianchi holster and two boxes of ammo (one with five rounds missing) for $622 from an LGS. Usually see nice ones in the $600 to $750 range. Good luck.

any Tax and transfer fees.

He's a friend not family......not making a buck or ripping a friend off..... but you didn't express any reason why you should help fund his "want".

$600-$700 depending on condition. Some of them have had the Titanium cylinder finish show wear due to improper cleaning products applied. Most are on the market because their owner bought them as a first time snubbie and thought the light weight was attractive. I am of those and will never sell mine.

Down here it's a $750 gun used, in 98%+ condition. New they are $850+. Where are y'all buying them for $750 new?

The best deals I have seen are private sales. Gun shops are usually a full $100+ over what the price you would pay from someone with a half box of .357's and sore hands.
If possible, keep a few Benjamin Franklin's in your glovebox. You never know when opportunity strikes.

I agree. But that's not my point. I am talking about new prices.
