Just curious, if an Nxxxxxx serial dates to 1982, what date would a 629-1 with a serial number in the AUK0xxx range date to?

Thank you for the date 824tsv

Qc Pistolero Mine has a 6" barrel . I had thought for years I wanted a 4", but this one came along and I am very happy with it . See my previous post from a few weeks ago for pictures. I knew about the lack of the endurance package. Mine had just returned from the factory for replacement of a broken trigger stud just before I bought it. This is one of the areas the package addresses with radius ed hammer and trigger studs . I own another .44 magnum for heavy loads and will limit this one to a moderate diet of them . What does yours have for grips ?

According to my SCS&W 3rd Edition the serial# dates to about 1987. If member Kernel Crittenden see's this he will certainly chime in with a more exact date.

My 629-1 also is a 6" and I didn't concern myself with the lack of the Endurance Package as I planned to shoot only cast target loads through it.

For that purpose of target shooting, I replaced the rear sight with a Millett (boy, are they hard to find these days, especially for an N-frame!) and would love to replace that integral red ramp with a black Patridge but I hate to permanently alter what will be an "older gun" before too long.

They are very nice-shooting guns and I'm sure you will enjoy yours.

Gunnut;mine came with the finger groves Pachmayer. But since like you I save the heavies for my other 44,I'll probably keep my radar on for a nice set of wood grips. Not too crazy with the regular N frame grips;I'll probably go check some aftermarket(Altamount,Eagle and others).
I shoot mine with 215 cast at aprox 1250FPS(will chrono the load next summer;up here in Montreal, winter is already knocking at our doors).
Have fun with your new toy!
