K Frame RB to SB targets grips?
I have a 617-6 which is a Round Butt gun fit with Hogue RB to SB rubber grips. I really like the S&W wood combat grips for the SB, and "think" I have seen some that are RB to SB conversion grips that would fit my 617.
Am I mistaken, did S&W make, or not make, a RB to SB conversion combat grip for a K Frame. I don't like the RB combats as they just don't fit my hand. If S&W didn't make them, I'll then get some Hogue's, but made out of a nice wood, or possibly some Altamont's.

The ones I'm thinking of might be those later laminate types.
Not really the same in my eyes anyway.

If I were you I'd consider K/L RB conversion combats from Culina Grips.
I don't know what they have available or in the works so best to contact and ask.
IMO,much nicer looking than the vast majority of original S&W combats

I USE AHREND'S RB TO SQUARE GRIP CONVERSIONS ON ALL OF MY S&W REVOLVERS. THEY AFFORD EXCELLENT GUN CONTROL, AND DAMPEN RECOIL. THEY CAN BE HAD WITH FINGER GROOVES, WHICH ARE TACTICOOL, BUT DON'T FIT MY HAND. I OPT FOR THE SMOOTH VARIETY. S&W MEDALLIONS ARE NOT AN OPTION--IF THAT'S WHAT FLOATS YOUR BOAT. MY 617 APPEARS ON THE EXTREME LEFT IN THE 4 GUN LINE UP......
I NEGLECTED TO MENTION THAT AHREND'S GRIPS ARE REASONABLY PRICED, AND CAN BE REGULARLY FOUND FOR SALE, BRAND NEW, ON E-BAY......

Ahrend's makes some nice RB to SB grips , in real wood (laminate is a fancy term for plywood) I had Kim make a matching pair of Retro Combats for a K frame model 64 and a N frame model 58 , in Cocobolo.
They look awesome and shooting is a joy. The man knows how they should fit the human hand. At the time they cost $60.00 set. I believe the cost is now $70.00...worth every cent and he will make them in the exotic wood of your choice !
That's them on my avatar's model 58.

I have Ahrends RB to square conversion on my 617. Two things to know: The S&W online store has grips they SAY are RB to SB conversions... however, you still see the back metal curving into the wood (for a sloppy look, IMO). The Ahrends conceals that "curve-in". I also learned that it's better buying the Ahrends from the eBay dealer (gripseller) because YOU get to select the exact color and grain (what you see is what you get). Buy direct from Ahrends and take your chances. The eBay route will get your grips in less than a week. Order from Ahrends and you may be waiting for months.

The question still is; Did S&W ever make RB to SB stocks in the K Frame Combat?

Joe has it exactly correct! I've bought several pair from gripseller, the eBay dealer. If Terri (gripseller) doesn't have the wood and/or grain pattern that suites you, you can pm her and she will notify you when she gets more in stock. Her customer service is EXCEPTIONAL!

I second buying from gripseller. Over the years, I have purchased several sets of grips directly from Ahrends and gave them my preference in wood coloration and figure. Each time, I was dissatisfied and sold the grips so it's better to buy what you can see and not what you expect.
Culina grips are top-shelf and are priced accordingly but you cannot be unhappy with them. I'd love to buy some of their target stocks but they don't make them with the speedloader cutout and don't checker unless you are willing to pay as much as the grips cost for the checkering. But for smooth combats, you can't beat them.

I paid a $10 upcharge for Kim to use my wood.
I specified unfinished so I could personalize them. Sandpaper around a dowel allowed me to shift and widen the finger flutes for a perfect fit to my fat fingers.
I wish Kim made grips for my Colts and Rugers, too. I'd have some in the works constantly.
All told, these would cost <$100 a set delivered.
Kim also made this set of SB's from a $30 piece of Ziricote I supplied. I like the "funeral gun" appearance of my 8 & 3/8" Mod 29....
