Default Model 29 Presentation Case (wood box) Repair

I'm the original owner of a Model 29-2 and the blue elastic/fabric liner of the wooden presentation box has simply decomposed over the years. I purchased this revolver in the very early 80's. Would this be a repair that S&W could do for me? I know I could ask but I'm asking here first.

I've still got the cardboard box and blue box as well. I'm just guessing that the repair of the presentation case would be something I could have S&W do for me.

Thanks,
Eric

Default Reconditioning a 29-1 wood case

I have the same situation with a bad inside condition on a 29-1 wood case and would be very interested in contacting the person that you mentioned for reconditioning. The outside is fine but the inside is .....well, not so happy. It is for an 8 3/8 and might also do one for a 6 1/2 as well. Thanks in advance for any help. This is my first post as a new member so I am hoping I did it correctly. Best regards to all. Scott S Texas

Welcome! If you use the search function here for jcelect, a link to one of his posts should show up. Click on his Forum name and a drop down menu will appear; send him a private message and he should respond soon. Joe does excellent work on liner rehab at very modest prices. Now you need to post the "after' photos . Hope this is helpful.

Thanks for the tip! I did have message and email conversations with Joe months ago. And when I ultimately decided to do the case restoration myself he threw me a couple important tips. It came out great. Yours looks awesome as well!

Anyone know where I can find a pair of hinges? One of mine is broke beyond repair. Otherwise my circa 1976 box is fine, inside and out.

Joe can get you the hinges and the top foam too if needed.

I just wish someone would start reproducing the liners. Any of you out there do the 3D printing thing???

Just received a presentation case back from Joe after he repaired the liners. Joe did an excellent job and at what I consider a fair price! I would not hesitate to recommend him and if I end up with another case needing repairs , Joe will be the man I go to.

Had him do my case for a 5"
27-2and he did an excellent job at what I consider a very reasonable cost.

Just wanted to add to his well deserved praises.
