Novelty? Why Can't I Purchase It for Less than $1000 with Crimson Trace If At All?
The Smith and Wesson Governor is well established as novel by so many. If you can find one new with a Crimson Trace they are getting $1000. How does supply and demand justify this anomaly? Can so many have incorrect assumptions or with customized ammunition are the naysayers simply wrong?

Remember when the Taurus Judge came out, it was touted as the "best carjacking response?" Same thing for the Governor except it has the advantage of .45 ACP "moon clips," one more round, and it's a Smith & Wesson!

Yes.

Yes. That said, the naysayers keep comparing the Governor to Model 25 variants and slamming .410 performance from short barrels. The Governor won't have the same performance as purpose-built .45 ACP or .45 Colt revolvers, but they won't shoot five 000 Buck or four .40 cal Buck at one trigger pull! Just the thing for close range, as far as my brother is concerned.

If you asking why it's priced where it is, of course it's because that's what the market will bear. But in their defense, this is a low volume item that shares little commonality with the rest of the product line, so the unique production cost's cannot be shared with other models, and need to be amortized only to this model. And high-end extras like Scandium frames, Tritium night sites, and machining for moon clips put it in a higher echelon.
