625-3 4 inch
So I have a 625-3 on its way to me from a deal this weekend, since I have been wanting a .45acp wheel gun. No box or anything but in decent shape except for the trigger........you can see some marks on it but the SIL is not sure what they are from. He will bring the gun up next weekend so I will have to wait to inspect.
Quick question for the illuminati here, what stocks are these and how are they attached? I suspect they are not SW since they have no medallions. What do you all think.

Thanks. Never occurred to me the screw was on the bottom like some pachmyars......makes sense. Can't wait to get my hands on it.

I have one of those too. You will love it. Originally these had Pachmayr stocks on them. I tore mine on some barb wire; later that day swapped two USA brand fifty round Ruger Mini 30 mags for these factory combat stocks which my gun has worn ever since.
You mention not getting anything with the gun, so you will need some moon clips and a tool to remove your empty .45 a.c.p. brass from the clips.
Not sure if it is still available but Corbon made a .45 Auto Rim cartridge that was rather hot and shot well from my gun. It did not need the moon clips due to the rim.

I did get the pachmyars and about 10 moon clips. I just did not get the box or papers. I will have to get brass removal tool.

My 625 is a newer JM Model. I do enjoy shooting 45 revolvers. If you want great range moon clips, there are Rimz poly moon clips. They work great, with no tools. Bob

My favorite 45 of all time. The only thing that keeps it from being my ALL time favorite, is my model 24

I do love a Model 24 so much that I have two 24-3 Lew Horton's in 3 inch. And traded off a 624 6 inch for my second 25-5.

Well the gun arrived today and it cleaned up nicely. It does have some wear marks and a few scratches but nothing to cause me to regret the deal. I also put the hogue rubber back on. On one side of the barrel it says 45 cal model of 1989

Now I just need to find some combats. Fortunately I have several pair I can try on to see how it dresses up but would like to get a dedicated pair. This pair is on one of the auction sites but not sure I like this flat darker color pair.

You may want to get yourself one of these. At $90 they aren't cheap but it's so easy and fast to load and unload the moon clips, you'll smile every time you use it.

Ok that helps to know these are the newer style. I may have to look at those a bit closer then. I don't necessarily like the price but then all these combats are going for more than 200 bucks whenever they pop up.

Well done! 4" barrel guns are my favorite, I also have a -3 4", came with the box and original Pach grippers. I put a Hogue wood grip on it, tons of fun at the range. Changed the front sight to an SDM gold bead. Enjoy your new blaster.
Hmm, having troubles getting pics to load but I've posted them previously.

Finger groove grips either fit your hand or they don't. I rarely find that they fit me. Oddly, the finger groove Pachmayrs that came on my 625-3 and 625-2 fit me very well. I left them on both guns.
The Model 625-2 is externally the same as the 625-3 except it was only offered in 5 inch length and the barrel markings were rollmarked or stamped rather than however they do the marks on the 625-3 and most of their stainless revolver barrels now. The 625-2 was marked "Model Of 1988." Both guns came with plain black ramped front sight blades.
You should really enjoy your new sixgun.
