Model Of 1988 45 ACP Just Back 01/11/17 From The S&W Performance Center
I have a Model 0f 1988 Model 625-2 45 ACP revolver, and wanted to have the dull matte finish changed to a regular stainless finish, and have the very rough action tuned by the S&W Performance Center. I also wanted contrasting sights (RR/WO) and wood grips added to make this a special/custom revolver. The grips and sights were supplied to me from a fellow S&W Forum member and were installed by me and my local gunsmith. Below is the end result. I am very pleased the way the revolver turned out. I plan to send in another revolver to the Performance Center for further action work. Thought you fellow forum members would enjoy seeing this.

I like it! Five inch, big bore, N frame wearing round butt combats (very nicely grained I might add)? Yep, I like it!
Edit:
I know you just took care of your front sight, but you may want to try a gold bead patridge blade.

I am a huge fan of of 45acp revolvers. I have always been more attracted to the old ones (1917, 1950 (pre-26), 1955 (pre-25) and a Colt 1917). The 625-2 was a gun that I sat on the fence over for a long time. I finally bought one at a really nice price, thinking I could always get my money out of if it wasn't to my liking. Buying it turned out to be a great decision. Once I put a set of Ace Custom conversion stocks on it, it became one of my favorite shooters. I pretty much keep my guns as they came from the factory, but I really like what you with yours. I'm satisfied with the action on mine, but that's a personal choice. You have a beauty. Enjoy it.

Model 39 you are going to love shooting that beauty! Love the grips and the non matte finish.
I lucked out when I bought my 625-8, 5 inch a few years ago. The original owner decided to get into competition shooting, so he sent it to the PC for an action job, chamber mouth chamfering and a Patridge front sight. He only shot a couple of matches then traded the 625-8 in on a S&W Pro Series 1911. I recently upgraded the rear sight to an LPA target version. Slickest revolver I've ever owned. Can't wait to try the new sight.

The total cost of the finish and action work with shipping was just under $400. To me it was well worth it. The turn around time was a little over 5 months, also worth it. The gun is really nice to look at, and the action is very smooth. If you have the time and patience you will be pleased with the results like I am. Thanks for your interest.

The grips are nicely matched. The Forum member who sold me these fine grips was very kind in allowing me to purchase them from him at such a great price.

Super sweet! My 625-4 Model of 1989 is my all time favorite shooter. Action is worked over and a dream to shoot.
Good luck on your ongoing project, you will appreciate all you do to it both in looks and performance and joy of shooting!
