New to me S&W 10-7 snubbie
I fell into what I consider a very good deal. This S&W 10-7 snubbie has only minor flecking on the back strap, which is really hard to see without a magnifying lens, and of course the pronounced ring on the cylinder. Someone used the wrong size screw driver on the grips but it's minor to me. Otherwise the bluing is deep and dark. My photos aren't that great but they are what I'm capable of. The box is a little worn, and there aren't any tools, but the manual, registration card and other odds 'n ends are a nice touch. I don't know where it was from birth, 1980 according to S&W 3rd Edition, until the former owner bought it in 2001. But the gentleman who sold it to me took very loving care of this beauty. I am very fortunate to have been able to buy it.

Thanks. I have a 10-5 snubbing that isn't anywhere this nice. But it goes bang every time I pull the trigger!

The Model 10 only has one flaw: It is not chambered in 357 mag.

^^^^what he said. In 2" bbl. The late gunsmith Andy Cannon made many "street" conversions of K-frame revolvers. A gun magazine printed a photo of his workbench with several such guns displayed on it. Included was a SB 13 or 65 with a 2" bbl. Talk about a grail gun!

Awesome gun! I have a 10-7 SB thats LNIB, and I need a nice RB like yours to go w/it. Best of luck with your new Smith.

I am very happy you got that! I want one so bad, just like your's, blued RB snub with magna grips! I am about to pick up a snub 64 which is as close as I can get for now. I'm very excited, but it's still not an old school 10 snub. That is one of my top 5 favorite guns!
As far as 357 mods, I saw one recently for slaw, a snub, blued Model 15-3 in 357!! I already LOVE my 15-3 snub, but in 357 it just may be one of the perfect guns out there (as there are definitely more than one between Smith and Colt. Probably still for sale, but I don't dare post the link, I'll get docked points again.

I have the same model, square butt snub, in my nightstand. It was my service revolver and just went to the range. People forget how great these guns are.

While we are sharing opinions; I say the biggest mistake S&W made was chambering 'J' & 'K' frame revolvers in 357MAG.
Especially with barrels less than 4 inches.

Mmm, can you expand on that?
I love my 357 J and K. I tailor handoads for each. Not full magnums, but put any 38spl load to shame.
With either one I can get the roll on and put rounds on target as effectively as my 38spl.
