Default An old favorite revisited

At one time the .357 magnum was the most powerful revolver on the planet. Soon came the .44 magnum, .454 Casull, the Linebaugh's and a few others. Everyone then attend the school of thought of "bigger is better", I went to that school too. I have recently become enamored again with my .357's and am seriously considering a deer hunt next season with it. Will it work? Sure it will, with the proper bullet and shot placement meat can be in the freezer but that is true of any caliber, rifle or handgun. My gun of choice would be my 586 (no dash) 6" barrel. The .357 took a lot of deer, and other game, some much larger long before the "bigger stuff" made their debut.
Yesterday I placed an order for Guide's Choice chest holster for it. I'm also in the very early stages of planning a mountain lion hunt and the revolver choice may well be the 586 again.
There, you just got my .02 cents worth.
