Default Polishing throat on barrel

Getting ready to re-barrel a 629 and was debating about doing a basic polish on the throat of the replacement barrel before it is installed. Nothing extensive, just a touch up. I look at this as similar to polishing the feed ramp on a semi-auto. Can't see where it would hurt as long as it's done with a modicum of restraint and to the throat area only. Now's the time to do it before install.

Thoughts?

How do you plan to do this? Also, remember that portion or the barrel may need a bit of trim adjustment to get gap right when you install it. You can get a brass lap from Brownells and a setup to do the throat while installed. I don't think polishing it with something like a Dremel and stone or rubber polishing cylinder is a good plan.

Gunsmiths know that the angle of the forcing cone is critical to accuracy.I think 11* is the optimum. Before polishing,I'd suggest you find out what is the angleof the cone and how the polishing would modify this.
Brownell sell a kit for this but personnaly,I'm so ''hand full of thumbs'' that I'd let my gunsmith perform the operation.
