Default Looking for info on 2 revolvers

I recently picked up 2 revolvers and wanted to see when they were made and if the amounts I paid are reasonable.

The first is a model 66 no dash 4" barrel, serial number 2k7xxxx. I picked this one up at a gun show for $500.

The other is a model 10-7 2" barrel, serial number AEVxxxx. This one has the Peruvian police marking on the side plate. This one I got at a local gun shop for just under $500 with tax. Is it correct the model 10 was made under a contract, but never used and instead sold to the public? The bluing looks brand new on it, with no wear and has no import marks.

Thanks for the help.

Sounds reasonable to me. If the guns came with boxes documents and tools then a really good deal

The Peruvian National Police guns are a known variation. They even had their own unique product code... 100101 (a searchable term).

They were made in 1984, and AEV is a known s/n prefix. They wore Magna Stocks, typical of that era.

The inscribed national seal was kinda cool, if I recall. You should post some pictures.

$500 is not unreasonable, depending on the details.

I think you did well on both of those. There was a Peruvian M-10 2" for sale at a large dealer, located in Houston, Tx, for years. The asking price was about $1,200.00 I don't know if it ever sold or not.

On a side note. I recently acquired a model 19-P in trade. This one was one of the overrun guns, that were shipped to Germany. The value of the trade was well more than $500.00.

Welcome to the FORUM! With the information you furnished it sounds like good deals. I have a 10-5. 2" R.B. from 1974. Really enjoy shooting it. Bob

The only exception with the above is "depending on condition". If those guns are very nice with practically no wear, those are reasonable prices. If the guns show varying degree of wear those prices may not be correct.
