Default Armslist buy: 49 Bodyguard blue

Came across this 49 advertised locally on Armslist with poor pictures..banged up stocks...but priced right and I could juuust make out a target trigger..so I asked to see it. The seller had consigned it to a local gun shop I had never been to so I figured worth the trip. The day I decide to go..it snows 8". Not to be deterred! Small shop with some revolvers but mostly modern stuff. I ask to see the 49. Sure enough, wide target trigger, and a very very smooth trigger job. Some blueing loss on the muzzle but acceptable. I pay the $425. I had already decided if I bought the revolver to replace the grips with some giraffe bone units I had seen recently that really caught my eye.The grips showed up yesterday, and with a little fitting..a match made in heaven.

I am pretty sure I have never seen a target trigger on a J frame. What a nice find. Those grips look terrific!

Wonderful little gun. I envy you. Quick ?: Is that target trigger wider than the trigger guard? If so, there could be a problem with holstering or pocket carry. Might want to check.

Thumbs up

That is one nice J Frame. The grips are also the bomb !!!
I would have driven in 2 feet of snow for that or rented a snowmobile. Enjoy it.

I love that humpback. And the grips are a perfect fit.

Congratulations, and enjoy.

I own a 1957 model 38 and a 2015 model 649 and love humpback guns.
They make a perfect carry gun.

What a beautiful revolver. I've got two, one in blue and one in nickle. I carry the nickle one quite a bit. Our local Cabelas's has a blue one in the Library for $449.00. Haven't seen one for sale around these parts for a very long time.

I've been a J frame fan for many years. The size is perfect for carry and they pack enough punch to take care of most anything I may ever need. The shrouded hammer is the best of both worlds, although rarely do I use the single action feature, but it is there. A wise man once told me his sidearm is only used to get to his shotgun..

Nice revolver, great grips. I often carry my Model 38 in nickel. Took me awhile to appreciate the humpbacks, but now I like them a great deal.
