Default Late to the party... 686-5 Mountain Gun

Not what I was looking for, but it was local and I didn't take too much of a hit on my trade.

I'm hoping it grows on me.

I reload, but I've never loaded for .357. Dunno at this point if I'll reload for this or not.

I was looking for another 44mag to swap my Python for (didn't shoot that enough to reload for), but fellow offered up this and enough cash to make be give it a go.

I picked it up a this afternoon, brought it home and took it out in the falling snow to see how it shot.

Wow. That's the gun I'd buy if I thought I could find it.

Personally, I would prefer that gun to a Python. The Pythons are pretty, but I prefer guns that I can use without worrying about them staying pretty.

One of the best "modern" S&Ws in my opinion. Smooth trigger, great balance, and shoots like a dream.

Me next....

I had one and regret selling it every day. I liked the size of the N frame better so sold that one off. Little thought was given to the fact I could put larger grips on it and get about the same feel. Oh the folly of youth....and gun collecting addiction.
Live and learn.

Keep it!

I hope that S&W reintroduces the 357 mag Mountain in an eight shot. That would be fantastic!

Congrats bangbig on what I think is one of the best .357's available (limited).
IMO, the only way to improve would be -5 mtn. gun configured with -4 features.
