Very nice, just don't sell them or you"ll be searching for them again like me. There is no cure for this disease!

no known cure, only treatment of the symptoms.
marry a rich widow, get a second job, sell a kidney, etc, etc, etc.
good luck
ETA:
not known to be fatal but may cause extreme weight loss due to ramon noodle diet, etc.

That's funny jack I've been doing this for 33 years and the urge doesn't go away. And as far as selling them no way I've got 15 of them back that I shouldn't have sold. 😣

I saw a 4inch 686 just like yours earlier today except it had standard target grips on it. Price was $550 IIRC and the condition was very good to excellent. I am just not a fan of full lug revolvers. If it had been a Model 66 I probably would have snagged it.

I've always been a semi-auto .22LR person..but every time I see a 617 lately....something tells me to get one. The 686 is cool too..but I got that disease a loooong time ago.

Great S&W gun buys and welcome to the slippery slope that usually leads to a lot more S&W revolvers.

Yep, looks like you've crawled out on the slippery slope of S&W revolver addiction!

I guess I'm lucky in that my S&W addiction is just confined to one model, but unfortunately it's the model 27s. Man, they are pricey for the earlier models in great shape. I just indulged myself a few weeks ago with an unfired nickel 27-2 with 8 3/8" barrel.

Dang, you've had some good luck for someone in a town with a population of 252, in a country not known for it's gun culture.

There is no cure for this disease. I caught it many years back. As for the Mod. 686 it's my favorite. My '44's sit in the safe. My grandson will inherit when I go to the "Big Range in the Sky".

What to do next ?
Thats easy, you start looking for the 6" and blued counterparts to balance the collection out :

After that you look for a 586 in nickel and a 686 Mountain gun and a snub and ...... just keep going we will let you know when to stop.

You are all very confused, it is not a sickness but a cure for so many thing that infect us in our daily lives. Come home from work, pick up a beautiful Smith and let the world cares vanish.

Congratulations on acquiring those beautiful revolvers. I believe this illness is "terminal". I'll have it till I die.

Here is how I personally validate my "addiction" (ahem) adoration for quality firearms. Short of gold, the most useful and value holding property for sale today is quality firearm. They do not go "out of style," I do not have to feed them, and they are relatively compact. Depending on your age and if or when you want to retire, if you bought quality, the value of those arms will rise right along with inflation. Now, get out there and work on that retirement plan!!
