Received a .38 special as a gift. Trying to find out anything and everything I can about it.

Howdy Papa and welcome aboard.

Looks like you've got a Model 64, 4", bull (or heavy) barrel. Along with the machine numbers you provided from the yoke it should say, "Mod. 64-x". It's probably from 1979-80, based on the 1D75952 serial number you provided.

Give us some pictures of the bottom of the butt as it is interesting it has a lanyard loop

The one thing I do know is I believe this was a special order for the Delaware State Police. At least according to my grandmother

It is likely stamped MOD 64-3 on the frame under the barrel with the cylinder out.

A letter of authenticity would tell you if it was a special order:
