Default 686 New Wood

Thought I would post a couple of pics to show off the new wood on my 686. These are walnut grips by Altamont. Provide more of a fuller grip then the stock rubber.

IMO, anything is better than black rubber. My 686, bought 20 years ago, came from the factory with square-butt wood.

Very nice. My 4 inch 686-2 has factory wood.
I'd hate to spend the $$ on those grips if I decide to sell it.
Enjoy looking at your pics, thanks.

Those grips have a great profile and the checkering is different that any of mine that are like yours. I think Altamont puts out a great product although some denigrate the laminated wood they use.

I am extremely happy with these grips. The fit and finish exceeded my expectations. Altamont does a great job.

Those look similar to a set I bought here on the forum. Stock targets modified by the previous owner and feel great in my hand. Using them on my old 686 no dash.
