Default Wife got me a gift!

Ahhhhh!!! I love my wife! Last night while I was at work she purchased me a Governor directly from Smith and Wesson!(Via one of their preferred dealers). She did the proper research and discovered that it was the cheapest price available! Waiting on my pickup FFL to contact me but I assume ill get it later this week. She is amazing!

Well that sure beats getting a pair of socks. You got a good one.
LOL What did she buy herself while she was shopping online? Maybe a new 642?

LOL, she is buying some new clothes, but she knows I always buy a gun this time of year for my "birthday" in june, lol.

This will be my first revolver. I was looking at the judge for a long time and honestly the only thing that swayed me away from the judge was the price of 45LC. When I discovered you can shoot ACP with the gov and saw that the fit and finish was far superior to the judge, along with the extra chamber, i was sold. Yes the price is a lot more, but its an investment and a gun I will really enjoy.

I plan to keep it loaded with Hornady critical defense 410 and 45LC hollow points alternating for home defense. When going to the range ill use 45ACP and 410.

I also ordered a cool moon clip loader, that way im not bending my moon clips.

Couldnt care less if other people out there appreciate my decision or not. Its a great concept that does serve a purpose.

May I suggest:

Moon clips for Governor,Moon Clips for S&W Governor

Polymer moon clips for the range. SOOOO much easier to deal with. Probably not a good idea for nightstand use, as the clip is pretty flexible. If dropped or handled "roughly" the rounds will pop out (at least for me, despite the video on the website).

Thanks for that, but I already have a moon clip tool on order that comes with a bunch of extra moon clips.

People seem to bash the governor, but not the people that actually have owned it. I think it's a conceptual thing. If you like the concept and it makes you happy, then it's undoubtedly a great gun!

What do you mean by the right stuff? In terms of range ammo i got some Magtech 45ACP and some Flat lead nose 45LC. I have an order from online coming for 410 Hornady critical defense shells and also 45LC critical Defense to have loaded for home defense.

Will pick up some cheap shot shells on range day.

As far as I am concerned research is a commodity, either politely asked for or not offered, so good for you.

While I don't own one, I can see the reasoning behind having one. Besides HD, it seems to me it would make a great barn gun using birdshot for rats, pigeons, and posionous snakes on the property. I might pick one up one of these days. Enjoy your Governor. BTW: You need to give your wife a big hug.
