Default Model 681 Find

I've seen them catalogued but had never seen one for sale. Found a nice 681 in great shape for $550 from a local collector. This may edge my 3" Model 66 out of most coveted spot.

You don't see them often, congrats.

Mine has the same PC magna grips.

I love 681s.

You don't often see them.

Mine is a great shooter, and has an awesome trigger.

Nice 104102, even still has it's original Magna Stocks. Logo on left side means it was probably made in 1983 or later.

The photos don't do it justice. The grips are crisp and the cylinder lacks even a faint turn line.

There was one in my LGS that had import stamps from Century Intl Arms, or something. It had been a New Zealand police pistol, then found its way to Oklahoma. Sadly, it was purchased by someone else.

Gotta love those fixed sight service revolvers. The 681 and 581 are among the best looking guns ever made by S&W, IMO.

It's fairly light , easy to carry yet packs quite a punch . Mine is very accurate . I don't shoot anything lighter than 158 gr . I bought one several yrs ago , carried it everyday for several yrs in Az .

Nice find!! This one came in my possession in 2014. Paid $500 for it. Posters are correct, don't see the M681's very often.

Nice snag there! Yup, ya dont see em around here, only one I saw and bought was a CRPD (Con-rail Police Department) marked in .38 Special. To be sure if I run across a standard .357 Mag it will be snarfed up to keep it's little brother company.
