Smith and Wesson makes a solid revolver

Contact S&W directly. They sent the gun out in that condition, not the LGS. Have bought a number of J-frames lately (You know me!

) and I discovered that QC depends on the individual gun and NOT on the logo/factory unit (PC, etc.) etched on the side of the frame.

I would definitely take it back to the shop, was it an in stock item, or did you order it?? Did the barrel "back out", or did the sight move in mount. If the barrel is "unclocking" that is a concern, and canted sights are far to common these days.

They may take it back on trade for another new Smith given its issues??

Darn, I should have at least called the shop. It was an in stock item and I specifically asked for a brand new, non display model. I spoke with SW customer service and sent the gun out today.

The sight moved in mount. What does it mean for a barrel to "back out" or "unclock"? I don't believe that was the case- let's hope not at least. Before the sight moved the gun was very accurate. Can't believe how accurate the 2in barrel was

The barrel is screwed into the frame and the front sight must sit at 12:00 o'clock, if the threads and flange are not right, sometimes it will sit at 12:15 or 11:45. In your case since it was the sight, its no big deal, and your barrel alignment is good.

I'm sure Smith and Wesson will take care of you, shame you have to wait, but I'm certain it will be worth the wait. Billy
