So I finally found one I been looking for............Model 65-5 Ladysmith.
Let me first say thank you to whoever put up "Armslist" website and that folks are figuring out we don't need the permission slip to buy, sell, and trade our property. OK soapbox mode off.
Saw ad last week, talked to the guy and set up a meet this morning. I took my "S&W inspection" list and tools, I was a bit nervous as he told me he had put in Wilson Spring set, but that's what the inspection is about.
It checked out great and home with me it came, set up my little front yard range and poured about 60 rounds through her.
5 differant kinds of 38's, 2 kinds of 357mags. She shoots like a dream, the 38's are pop gun stuff and the 357's are snappy (compared to my 27 and Python they should be)
It shoots so well I thought I had gone back in time 40 years and was shooting on the team again.
The funny thing is I shoot it better 2 handed rapid double action then I do one handed bulls eye. everybody swears by these 3inch K frames and now I know why. I snapped most of these pictures when I was done shooting and before cleanup, the last couple after and indoors. I do believe I am going to give her a bit of a fluff and buff. So the long and short of it: I got the gun, box, jewelry case, one set of Uncle Mikes rubbers and the Hogue Bantam's that are on it (missing original grips) a real nice S&W lined holster for a 4" 29 (my 3 1/2" 27 will go nice in there) a Bianchi Cyclone III that fits it, and a box of speer 158gr gold dot 357 mags. I gave him $650.00 and we both left happy. I am leaning toward putting a set of Alrends finger groves on her as I despise rubbers. In the meantime anybody got a set of original red stocks for her? I would be most grateful if some one would look up the born on date for me. serial number BSK3396 Thank you very much.
