I am wondering if S&W ever produced K-frame combats in the slab sided configuration similar to what was made for the N-frame 29 and 629 magna and DX classics of the same era? If so, what k-frame revolver would these have been made for? I do believe the N-frame slab sided combats would have been made in the 1990's?

The last of the convex sided K frame Combats that were manufactured by S&W did not leave S&W until years after S&W had discontinued making their own stocks. The last ones were shipped on 6 shot 2 1/2" 686. They were dash 3 if I remember correctly. I've never seen flat sided S&W made K frame combats and I do not know any reason why they would have made them while they still had convex sided ones to use up.
