A lot of owners seem to want to know the date-of-manufacture for their older handguns. So far, I own only newly manufactured handguns, but I too would like to know the date they were made. Am I correct in assuming S&W puts the date-of-manufacture on the box label for modern handguns, such as shown on the attached photo for my model 10? (presumed manufacture date of Apr 4 2016). Thanks

Yep. You're right on the date. That's a complicated code..... not. Smith has only been doing dates that way for a couple of years.
