629-4 PC Master Hunter Scope Only
I was baited...hooked & reeled in. But with no regrets. A good friend showed me this gun a year ago knowing I'd want it. He was right. Months of prodding later I finally added it to my collection of 44s.
If you notice something odd about the gun you're right. No sights!! The only revolver I'm aware of from the factory with no sights installed.
From what I've been told by the seller and a little help from the SCSW it's 1 of 200 made for RSR product code 170087. Mine left the factory Feb 3 1997. I got the blue box and papers with mine, I don't know if this one ever came with a PC case or not. Never fired since it left the factory. It has a 7 1/2" slabside barrel that was factory ported.
No pics or it didn't happen, right? Here ya go!
The ball detent is installed opposite of the norm nowadays with the ball on the barrel. And you can see the 3 carbon rings on the cylinder face where it was test fired.
The spot where the rear sight usually goes is left empty and drilled & tapped for a scope rail.
As soon as I got the gun in my hands I ordered a Raptor mount and Burris FastFire 3.
'ppreciate y'all lookin'

Fantastic gun. I wouldn't have been able to resist either. Definitely needs an RMR style or scope instead of iron sights. Good move.

It is indeed a round butt frame Kernel. And here's a pic of the box label for your collection.

Some people have a 401k for retirement.
Others have .44 Magnum k's.
One has a Rate of Return.
The other has a Rate of Return Fire!

Very cool. That one is new to me too, and is just one more to watch for. A PC -4 is a great find. I'm glad you shot it and it's not going to sit around being pretty.

S&W PC 629-4 Master Hunter
Congratulations on your purchase of the S&W PC 629-4
Master Hunter Scope Only 44 Magnum, and having a
Friend that would sell it to you.
I like your setup of the Raptor Base and Burris Fastfire 3.
Very neat and uncluttered look. Of what I have seen in
the past of those Revolvers, their very accurate.
Congratulations

Man, you have a knack for finding the rare and unusual ones don't Chya? That is one sweet .44!! Glad to see you took her out and piled up the brass too. That FF looks perfect on there. You would need a bipod if you mounted a traditional scope on it.
