A 625-5 SDS... Stainless Steel, 5" barrel, .45 Colt. They have a performance center quality action and are very accurate and low recoil compared to similar big bore calibers.

A toss up between my 22-4 Thunder Ranch and 625-8 5 inch, both in .45 ACP. Third place goes to my Ruger Blackhawk Convertible .45 Colt/.45ACP, though I do really like the 29-10 6.5 inch too.

...really like my 29-3...but since I'm getting more and more interested in the older stuff...a pre 29 would be nice...or a nice old 44 Hand Ejector...

Since it is the only "big bore" I have, I will have to say it is my Ruger Redhawk in 44 mag, 7.5 " barrel with a 2 power Leupold scope. It has been my back-up arm in the stand for 30 years resting in an Uncle Mikes cross draw holster. In her off time she discards the scope as she really loves going nekked!

I think my 625's are all excellent. I have a 625-3 with a 4" barrel that will shoot groups that I thought I would only read about. I have a 625-6 mountain gun that is very close to it also. It might have something to do with the caliber?

There is something about my 4" 629-3 that seems to bring out the best in anyone that shoots it. Part of it, I 'spose, is the respect people give it for it's potential. The biggest part, most likely, is it's quality and sweet trigger.
My favorite big bore, though. is a Springfield Armory TRP 1911. Yup.

My favorite S&W 44 mag is this long-tubed 29-3 Classic Hunter and my favorite NON-S&W 44 mag is this snubby Astra Terminator by Jovino Customs.
Opposite ends of the big bore spectrum.

I'll bet that puppy is a handful ! I gotta say that I love my 629 classic in .44. Smooth and accurate ! The real tack driver is a 586 no dash with 8 3/8's barrel. It can out shoot me for sure ! Not a big bore, but shooting full tilt mags is a joy in that gun.

629 or 29 Classic with five inch barrels. In particular the 629-3 version as well as the -5 or -6 29 version. DX models of the same are just icing on the cake!

I have five (5) big bore revolvers (I define "big bore" as >.40 caliber). My favorite is my 625-9 "Mountain Gun" in .45 Colt. The other four are my Uberti single action revolvers also in .45 Colt. The single action revolvers are the ones I shoot in Cowboy Action Shooting (CAS).

Uberti single action revolvers:

All good shooters! Thanks for taking the time to look.
God bless,

When you have a 45 Blackhawk you really don't need any other big bore revolvers.
