$1.5k-1.8k. is the range I would expect it to bring on an auction site. I bought one recently in that range, only not nickel finished. (nickel is a minor deduct for me..for a 4" 25-5,but not everyone..)

I think much less than posted above. I really think it would be tough to get more than $1,250. Especially if it suffers with oversized chambers that is fairly common on the P&R models of this era.

I read about the "oversize" chamber throats before purchasing a 25-5 and sure enough all 6 of mine miked out at .458" when I received it. However, it groups factory ammo in 2" at 50'. No problems there! So...what's the word I'm looking for..oh yea.. hysteria. I have a 25-3 that has similar size chamber throats and it is a tack diver as well.Maybe the throats are over specs by a few thousandths of an inch, but it doesn't seem to hurt accuracy much..at least in my two examples. Maybe with certain loads the chambers are an issue.
As far as value, I'd be willing to bet if the above revolver were placed for sale on GB (with proper pictures) it would def sell for >$1250, and I'd wager on it. (I'd personally bid more than $1,250,if need be. I don't have a nickel one,yet..) All it takes are two people who want the same thing to lift an auction. Every time one sells it sets a benchmark price, and from what I see, that price is not coming down. However, that can change, like any commodity.

The oversize throat issue is an issue if you handload and enjoy using cast bullets. End of story. You can take that to the bank.
Auction is your best bet to get rhe most money. The gun being in that condition could bring 1400 plus. Lots of people looking for safe queens.

So, one question...
How important is it if two of the three accessories (swab and cleaning rod) are incorrect?

I like buying "safe queens" as you know they are usually in new condition. I do the same when buying cars, bikes etc.
It amazes me how many people buy things just to own them and never really get to enjoy the item for its intended use. I had a friend who bought a new ZR1 Corvette in 1990 and drove 3 miles to his home, where he put it in a garage on (padded) jack stands. He would tell everyone he met just how great his new Corvette was..and finally one day, I asked him how he knew his car was so much fun..seeing as he had only driven it 3 miles..and he said because everyone says so. It's a funny world..even back then...

Not much importance to me.Even the case isn't all that important as S&W seemed to buy cases from the lowest bidder as they so easily fell apart. However..if all the extras are there and in prime condition,it does give some an incentive to buy that example vs. one with no accessories. As I'm fond of saying..you can't shoot the box. Well..actually, you could..

I agree with the $1500 to $1800 and the longer you keep it the higher that price will go up. They just aren't making them anymore, AND if S&W does bring back a special run, they won't be made like that one. It's"GOLD". Think twice before selling, you'll never replace it.

25-5 nickel, 8-3/8, never fired outside of 3 chambers from factory, ALL boxes, paperwork (owners manual, warranty card, etc). Case still in plastic bag. Stolen from GB for $1150 last year.
