Billy my old eyes are not the greatest but I think it is an A with the crossbar extended and curving up on the left side of the character.

Default Thanks to Firewire the artist who engraved this revolver is identified.......

.........at firewire's suggestion I contacted Mr. Charles Bleile, the Historian for the Engravers Guild and he very promptly identified the engraver as the late J. R. French of Irving, Texas.

My appreciation to both of these gentlemen.

Very nice...(thanks for the link over on Richard's thread)...This is a beautiful, but eminently functional piece of art!! I would carry it... I think it would only grow more attractive as time passes.
