66 Question
Hey guys,
I saw this 66 in a shop in FLA a few weeks ago while on vacation. I almost bought it but ultimately decided against it. Unfortunately I didn't look to see what dash it was. Now i'm having almost-bought-it-but-didn't-and-should-have-remorse. Argh.
Any ideas what version this is? Any red flags? Wondering if the price was a good deal or not (but understand that knowing what version it is helps!) – and I'm not sure if it's okay to ask values here or not. The asking price was $550 and it was on consignment and the proprietor thought they'd be willing to deal a bit...
Thanks!

You messed up big time. Easy to get $100 to $300 more out of it.

Looks like a 66-4 or maybe a -3 and 550 would be a pretty good price.

Not pinned so not a no-dash or -1.
Wood grips..... so pre- 94 when 66-3s had Uncle Mike grips or a 66-4 would have had Hogue's per- SCS&W.
So that leaves us -2 or -3.......-3 were yoke retention systems changes we can't see in pictures............

Looks to be in great shape and hardly fired. Maybe a "safe queen" or "night stand" gun. I agree with others - - YA SHOULD HAVE SCOOPED IT UP!

I paid $649 for a Dash 5 which is a great gun. A dash 2 or 3 would likely demand more (and deserve it). $550 is a bargain.

Thanks for the input guys. I'll call the shop and see if it's still for sale... and if so, see what he'll take for it and factor in shipping and the transfer fees and go from there...
I knew I shouldn't have went into that shop!

I would have bought it!
And I already have one.
But at that price, two would certainly be OK!

Go back and see if it's still there. That's a great price! Good luck!

I do not believe it to be a -2. Look at the picture of my 66-2 in the area of the frame just forward of the ejector knob. I also agree the price is more than reasonable. I paid $450.00 plus a buyers premium and sales tax on mine last July. Buyer's premium was 10% and sales tax was 8%.

A close-up and clearer picture of the area I was referring to.

Bad news. "Sorry, it's long gone" was their answer to if it was still even available.
Lesson learned (well, re-learned): always jump on a good deal when it pops up in front of you!

Even jump on the not so good deals because you never know when another one is going to come along and life is too short not to enjoy the things you want.......I continue my search for a 66 and am second in line for one that popped up on my local gun board....but I suspect I won't get a chance since the first person on the list will probably nab it even if the price is a bit high at 700 dollars......

By "ejector knob", do you mean the cylinder release? What are we looking for there?
Wait: I just saw your pic of the barrel. Your other post said the FRAME.
