I bought the grips because they were a screaming deal but after handling the gun after the swap I definitely like the grip. Today was grip day. A Model 64 that got swapped

I don't know. The dealer thought they were factory. I argued they were Asian.

You're correct. I call them "Thailand Specials".

A classy 3 inch revolver deserves classy wood.
Not a 66, but you get the idea:

I tried several different grips on my 2 1/2" 66-1 and finally settled on the round butt targets like your bottom picture. Second best to those were the Pachmayer's like your top picture.

While the smooth Presentation style may look better the checkered RB Target grips are much better for shooting due to the very sharp checkering that really helps holding onto the gun with +P and magnum loads

They are definitely the Thailand grips. Not that it's a bad thing. Some of those Thai grip makers make some nice grips for good prices. Jaruwan comes to mind on ebay and his prices are the lowest. The nice thing is they make their 'own' styles and variations to serve functional users that want something different instead of the same factory types.

I am currently waiting on a pair for my snub Python. Colt grips of custom style are next to non-existent. All are just factory knock-offs. Jaruwan had some nice functional ones and I found a sweet pair for $32 bucks. Should have them this week.

Beautiful stocks all around. I'm always pleased to see someone shed those ugly black galoshes. May I add a photo of my 66-2 2 1/2 inch revolver?

It's wearing Altamont Altai engraved stocks with checkering.
