New 686 4" on the way!
Thanks for the opinions and guidance on helping me make a decision.
I ordered a new 686 today, and hope to have it mid next week. Now what? Any thoughts on a holster, speed loaders, ammo, or other accessories? Maybe it's because it's my first revolver, but I'm excited to get this one in my hands!

New 686 on the way
Great choice!! You will have a ball. I don't own one, but is on my bucket list, is a Tucker holster. In my opinion the absolutely the best. Ammo, if it's a .357, it will eat anything. .38's to Buffalo Bore. Speed loaders, I don't use them. I like loading one at a time. Hope this helps. Send pics if possible. Talk to you later. Have fun, be safe! sdb321

That was my first gun. Hope you enjoy it as much as I do. Just start off finding a good source of moderately priced ammo, because it gets used quick. It's great fun to shoot, and then you'll want to share the fun with others.

Safariland Comp II J-GL8C speed loaders are what I use. Can't comment on holsters but I'm impatiently waiting on a Ted Blocker TNT that should be here in a few weeks.

Good choice! Can't help with a holster as I don't carry mine. It does come with me as a truck gun though. In the carry bag I throw HKS speedloaders also. They've always worked well for me. Something I always change is the grip. Don't like finger bumps and.. well..

You chose a great gun, I sure like mine.
I prefer Safariland Comp 2 speedloaders, but unfortunately they only make them for 6 shots. For 7-shot revolvers I use HKS.
I carry my 4-inch 686-5 in a Galco Fletch high-rise holster and can conceal it under a moderate length jacket.

I love my 686-4, and highly recommend Privateer Leather for holsters- have many of their holsters. It's my go to holster maker.

New 686
Very nice gun Buckmark13. I know you'll enjoy it! It looks just like mine did before I replaced the factory grips.

The 686 is one of the finest 357 mag revolvers ever made. Well done. Mine are pre-lock, but if I buy a Smith with a lock it will be a 3 inch 686.
