Default Some newer N frame snubbies --- value?

Ran across a 325NG and a 329 Alaskan Backpacker IV today. Both are used but in good shape. Probably more interested in the 325, but what should they sell for? Is this particular Backpacker rare? I passed on a pretty rare prelock Backpacker earlier this year, an all steel one. Wouldn't look forward to touching off full power .44 Magnum out of that 329, though with the stainless cylinder it's heavier than the 4" 329PDs you see in every gun store.

I know you're asking about what's a fair price but it's an area I by-pass since pricing varies so much for many reasons.

I just wanted to mention that you can upload the 325NG to 45 Super levels, if that's important to you. While it can't compete with the 44Mag it's a sizable boost in power when you want it.

The 325NG is pretty light (27oz.) even though it's got the steel cylinder so you still want some soft grips (Pac Diamond Pros work nicely) with the hot loads.

I removed the dead front night sight & added a red ramp (.225"H). Then removed the C&S fixed sight & slid in a factory S&W adjustable rear sight (.146" blade) so I can adjust for those lighter bullet's lower POI.

Not sure about where you live, but these ultra light N frames do seem to go for more than their steel counterparts. To me the value is in the light weight for carrying comfort, especially as I get older. I had a 4" 329 that I tried to like and shot it quite a bit trying to come up with a manageable load. For me it just didn't happen and I ended up selling it. I found a used 325NG recently, and the 45 ACP caliber seems like a better fit to the lightness of these titanium guns. It isn't nearly as painful to shoot, even with warm 45 loads, and the stainless cylinder probably helps with the additional couple of ounces. If you're looking for one of these to carry and shoot, I'd recommend the 325. The 329 is a handful of recoil. Powerful but not that practical unless it's loaded with 44 Special type loads.

While I'm a shooter, I'm a sucker for hard to find models. So practicality isn't the #1 concern. I backpack with a 629 5" but it might be nice to have a lighter gun.

Now that I think about it, the 325 must be a PD model. It has a titanium cylinder and fiber optic front sight.

325 NG 800-1100 based on completed auctions on GB. Condition, complete package, and area move the scale. Hope this helps.
