Centerfiresystems has model 10's & model 64's back in stock
Ever since the 640"s were selling so well I made a point of looking at Centerfire's page every day. Well today they've got 10's and 64's for sale. The prices aren't bad either so you might want to look.

I'm going to grab a 10. The 64s are IL revolvers..so no deal for me.

Not to hi-jack your thread but take a look at Southern Ohio Gun.
Mod 64 DAO's for like 249.00 through next week.
I am hoping this posting will cause them to sell out because I have enough (yes I know that may not be possible) Model 64's already, but man it is tempting.

I just called Centerfire, and the 64s are available without the IL..the text saying it has an IL is a typo..it is HG0500 product code. One on the way..

Got the email, ordered one (HG0500), then came here to see if it had been posted yet.
Hope it's in as good a shape as the 640 I got from them.

I had just checked my email and had an email from CF (the email was time stamped 5:05). It was a little before 6pm when I checked their website. They were showing 9 Model 64's in stock without the lock. Wife and I left for dinner and when I checked again around 7:15 and they were sold out. They still have some 64's with the IL and some of the model 10's with rubber grips.
I ordered one as soon as I got the email.

Just thought I'd bring this thread up because Centerfire has the no lock 64's back in stock. The one I picked up out of the last batch was well worth it. Nice shape and has the smoothest trigger out of any I own. Very accurate too.

What dash number was your 64? Did it have a firing pin on the hammer?

The one I received on the last go round had the firing pin on the hammer, 64-5 and round butt with Uncle Mikes rubber grips. Medium to light surface abrasions with no deep scratches. Clean bore, tight lock-up and typical smooth S&W trigger. One mis-matched screw and 2 neatly stamped numbers below the cylinder, but otherwise very nice condition.
Nice gun for the money. I'm happy.

Sounds just like mine. 64-5 also. Number 11 stamped under cylinder, otherwise just a few very light nicks and abrasions. Swapped out the Uncle Mikes for some Pachmayr Compacs.

They are currently showing 10+ in stock for either the IL or non-IL versions.
For the Mod. 64.

I would say this thread is over due for a pic, so here's my 64-5 from Centerfire.
I very lightly cleaned and added the Uncle Mikes Round grips (came with round to square conversion).

This is mine, the inside was incredibly clean with just very light lube. I left it alone. Apparently the armorer who worked on these knew his stuff. I would like to know from whence they came, I would guess corrections somewhere.

I just got back from Centerfire and the guy said these came from California Dept. of Corrections. Some were marked CDC and some were not. I picked through them and got a nice 64-5 and an even nicer 10-7.

Is your 64 round or square butt? I'm not a huge fan of the Uncle Mike's on my gun and I was wondering how you like the Pachmayr Compacs. I have another K-frame with Pachmayr Grippers and I really like those but I thought about trying something different. Thanks.

Round butt. I'm not a fan of finger grooves and really like the Pachmayr Compacs.

How did those Model 10's look? I've considered picking up one of those too.

The 10's were a real mixed bag, some were really nice while others were cosmetically challenged. A few had different types of engravings as well. The guys at Centerfire are pretty cool, they just let me go behind the counter and dig through them until I found the keepers. The gentleman I talked to said that this was probably the last batch of these that they were going to get.
Thanks for the tip on the Compacs.
