I would go right the Hi-Viz website. That price is way too high. Ebay has 1 for my 686-6, Pro-Series for $27.00 shipped. It is SW3001R, which is not the 1 you need. Bob

Some 586's have an integral ramp and sight blade. If that is the case the original blade would have to be milled off and a slot milled into the base.
Check the current front sight and see if the blade is pinned in. That makes it easier, but still may be beyond the scope of some DIY's. The new blade will have blank tang. Use the holes in the ramp base as a guide and drill from each side, through the blade. If you attempt to do it all from one side you most likely will end up with an elongated hole on the off side - or worse yet, two holes.
Adios,
Pizza Bob
PS: Weigand Combat used to make a whole ramp base that was set-up to accept the DX interchangeable blades. This required the entire ramp base to be milled off, down to the barrel rib. A recess the shape of the new ramp base is milled into the rib and a hole is drilled & tapped. The new base is pressed into the recess and secured with a screw and red Loc-Tite. While Weigand no longer offers this, I understand that Hamilton Bowen is manufacturing them.

Bon jour Ragnarok:
FYI - I have a Model 64-3 with a 3.0 inch long barrel. This particular revolver has a pinned in front sight. I like the fiber optic front sights and bought one like the one you have in your post for my Model 64, and installed it without any problems. It looked great, but unfortunately, it shot way below the point of aim. Nothing wrong with the installation - the bottom of the sight was against the top of the sight recess. It just flat out didn't work. Yes, I verified I had the correct front sight for this revolver, and even called the factory to verify (they did offer to exchange the front sight for another one). I just wanted to share my experience with you before you spend a bunch of money on one that might not prove satisfactory to you.
Good luck,
Dave

Your -3 has the front sight machined as one piece with the barrel. I forget what dash number they got pinned front sights. Your options would be have a gunsmith remove the blade and cut a slot for a replacement front sight or replace the barrel with one already cut for a pinned front sight.
I would add everybody could use a second 586/686 and start looking for one in a later dash, but I'm guessing not such a easy task in France.
