S&W .22 caliber /LR Combat Masterpiece
Good evening:
I have a S&W .22 caliber LR Model 18-4 Combat Masterpiece Revolver w/ Pachmayar "Gripper" rubber sport grip, hand ejector, 4 1/8" barrel, Serial number 93K**** . The front sight is 1/8" Baughman Quickdraw on plain ramp, rear sight is a S&W Micrometer Clicksight. I am trying to get an idea of it's value, since I have to get that and three of my other firearms documented for insurance purposes. Thanks for any feedback!

Welcome to the forum.
Best way to view the market price for any gun is to go to a site like Gun Broker and do a search of completed sales for the model that you are interested in. This will show you what folks have been paying for a gun like yours.
The for sale section will give you an idea of what folks think their gun might be worth but a seller can ask any price so it only really helps to look at those guns that have actually sold.
What insurance company are you dealing with?

Hey thank you for getting back to me. I've done some checking and the gun was valued anywhere between 650.00 and 800.00, so I can only assume that is all they (Travellers) needs. I made the mistake of not having a registry of my firearms and a shotgun was removed from my truck because of my own stupidity (I left it in there while I ran in my house to get ready for a birthday party because I was late getting home from hunting. The next morning the gun was gone, because I had left the door unlocked, though I had felt violated and really PO'ed because it was parked in my driveway.) My OLD insurance company said the value of the gun was only as much as my deductible (500.00) since I had no proof of real value. I had purchased it from a retired police captain who had passed away, and I when we checked replacement value it was listed at 900.00 ( Wingmaster w/vent rib, walnut stock), but there was no proof of condition so they would not cover it for as much as the deductible. I fired them. Now, all my guns will be registered, photographed, and documented with my NEW insurance company, whether they like it or not.

18-4's are very desirable guns, and if the condition is in the 95% or better, it will definitely bring $750 - $800, and might take you up to $1000 to find one comparable to replace it. Values are going up every day, so unless you re-adjust your insurance faithfully every year I'd put it down for $1000, and plan to re-adjust about every 5 years.
