Right Stocks for 66-2
Got a 66-2 at March gun show. Of course it had a monogrip on it. Did not have any round butt wood grips that I liked on it. Started to look on ebay. Nothing struck my fancy. What am I to do?
So I had a brainstorm....... had a beat up set on Herrett S.B. checkered target stocks. I could not find a before picture of them. I put them on a r.b. 10, & traced the right profile on the backs with a pencil. I cut them, shaped and sanded trial & error. Nice wood though. Then instead of Tru-Oil, I used Minwax spray lacquer. (a 1st for me) I did not want a super gloss finish so I did not buff them. So, for basically nothing, these look & feel good to me. Bob

Right Stocks for 66-2
So what are the right stocks for a 66-2? I recently picked one up and it has those Hogue bantam mono grips that feel good but just don't do anything for the gun's appearance. What version of SW stocks should I be looking for?

Bananaman,go bananas
You know and I know the factory original silver washer K RB bananas will look great on that revolver, either the smooth presentation or checkered.
The guns shipped in 1985 with silver washer magna service grips

I have a beautiful set of silver magna service stocks. I don't care for the feel. I am just a target stock kind of guy. Ideally would like a factory set of "banana round smoothies" You got my checkered ones. So, I made some for now! Bob
