Default Can someone explain all the numbers on the 629-1

I'm new to the forum and I got this gun several years back from a friend. Can anyone tell me what year and what all the numbers mean? Thanks

I'll presume you know what ".44" and "629" mean .

The Product Code IDs the gun and configuration in S & W speak. The Special Order Code of that era indicated the year and date the gun was ready to ship - 7 is 1997, and 259 is September 16. I never noticed the 629 referred to as "Model No. 993" but someone here might. Hope this is helpful.

993? No idea, but has nothing to do with the model number! Possibly the final fitter, packer?

Spec Ord 7259 is usually the Julian date that the gun was packed. This designates the 259th day of a year ending in 7, 1987, 1997, 2007, 2017. For this specific gun AYC is a SN from 1987, not 1997, per SCSW.

Sometimes this exceeds x365, then who knows what it means!

S = Stainless Steel

TS = Target Stocks

CT = Combat Trigger

TH = Target Hammer

RR = Red Ramp front sight

WO = White Outline rear sight

103603 = Stock Keeping Unit (SKU) Identifies specific product

Under the bar code the SN, SKU, and SpecOrd Number are repeated. This is what the bar code represents.
