S&W 544 44-40 N frame
Looking at a 544 in 44-40 in custom factory presentation box and papers, 100 rnds fired and it looks like it. Nearly new, the model has the state of Texas on the right side plate, it was made to celebrate the state's 150th anniversary. Smooth target grips. Target hammer and trigger. I do reload but probably would shoot this very little. Asking $600. Thoughts on value?

That's a very fair price in my view. If you intend to shoot it, handloading would get the most out of it.
It was called the Texas Wagon Train, 4,782 were made in 1986. The product code is 103195, and s/n prefix should begin with "TWT".
There was also a deluxe version with more gold inlays, pc 103196.

I also reload but find I can do better reloading the 44 Special to target or hunting loads then the 44-40. It's brass can be damaged easy while resizing I have found.
Nice revolver to show off as not many made.

Found one offered NIB for $1100, so you may be looking at a good deal there.

That $600 544 would already be in my hands.

$600 is a steal!!!!!
As noted - the 44-40 cases have to be handled carefully or the neck can buckle.
